BarCamp in Malta

Say what, you might ask? BarCamp? Yes indeed, that is what’s on in Malta, soon, very soon, as soon as it all comes together. What exactly is it? No it’s not a camping replete with its own bar; you can enjoy that on your own time, Put simply:

“A BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event.”

That’s all there is to it really. Taken directly from the event website, “No scheduled speakers. The talks can be on anything, from new media, programming to hearing how someone is helping to change the world. But don’t worry, you don’t have to do a talk to participate!”

If you’re passionate about your area of expertise and have something to share, a clever tip, some intelligent insight, or perhaps want a receptive crowd to bounce ideas and thoughts off, BarCamp is for you.

A worldwide event, locally, BarCamp  is being organised by Karl from MarketingInMalta, a great bloke if one ever existed. So you might ask, why do you need me?

Two reasons: If you know your shit and are passionate about what you’re doing, especially if your work is exciting and innovative, we want to hear from you. We’re certain your insights will be interesting and helpful, as will ours.

If you can sponsor BarCamp Malta, that would be the second reason why we need you. All events need money, and if you give us some of yours, and depending on how much you give us, you will be ‘reaching a wide audience and the many others who, though unable to attend, will participate online.’ But if you’re curious already, head over to http://www.barcampmalta.org/ and see what’s in this event for you.
